Fortune Bingo
Badge tips Be sure to select the Speedy Games tab, then the Six Cards tab for the Turn Up the Heat badge! For faster badges that require correctly-covered numbers (if you don't care about Bingos), go to Speedy/Six Card games, quickly cover all numbers on your cards, and relax until the game ends. Once you've gotten credit towards your badge, move to other rooms until you find one in progress, and quickly cover all your numbers again. You can get 80-100 correct numbers in an average game this way and wrong numbers don't count against you for these badges. You might also get a spin, and you can always try hitting the gong after someone else calls Bingo.. you might get lucky. For faster badges that require spins, you can do the same thing but you only have to cover your Spin square. For badges requiring tokens, be careful not to cover incorrect numbers as they will count against your tokens won. Correct numbers earn 1 token each, and 5 tokens are deducted from your winnings for every incorrect number. Also for token badges, be aware that Six Card rooms pay the most for Bingos (400) but One Card games go much faster - meaning more opportunities for spins. Your best bet for badges requiring bingos is to play late at night (approx. 11pm to 4am Pacific Time). If you can't find a room by yourself, look for one with just a few players. Speedy/One Card rooms seem to generally have the least people playing. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! In this game you rank up by getting and calling Bingos. Be aware of the pattern you need as it changes in every game (except those on the Blackout tabs). Speedy games are just that: the pace is quite a bit faster than regular rooms and games go much faster. But if you don't pay attention you're likely to fall behind, especially in Six Card rooms. If someone calls Bingo and you also have a Bingo, hit the gong quickly or you may not get credit for it. If you enter a game in progress or fall behind, the number board shows the current number in red and the last five numbers in blue. You can also use the board to quickly scan for one or two numbers you need for a Bingo or a Spin to make sure you didn't miss them. Sometimes messages appear below your cards that you can largely ignore, other than the one that says somebody is one or two numbers away from getting a Bingo. That means you better double-check your numbers and get ready to hit the gong if you can! More about Fortune Bingo Your rank is indicated by a magic-themed item to the left of the numbers board, but you have to click on your stats to see what it is. The third time you hit the gong when you don't have a Bingo you'll get bounced from the room.. if this happens, simply enter another. The How to Play says the first five people to call Bingo will get credit for it, but usually only three can get in there before time's up. A similar companion game, Bingo Luau, was added in the summer of 2007. Some rooms are informally designated for "sharing" to let more people share the bonus and get spins. When one person has a bingo they'll type bingo or b into the chat area and wait until one other player does the same. Then the third person to get a Bingo hits the gong and the other two do the same. Some people mention in their profiles if they do or do not "share Bingos" (and some are quite adamant about it!) While it's cordial to play by these rules in a sharing room, it's not required (especially on a Wednesday when many non-regular players are in the rooms). You aren't breaking any official rules if you "jump the share" and call Bingo before two others can do so, but you might get yelled at. It's unusual to have two weekly badges as close together as Psychic Readings and Token Fortune - just 7 weeks apart! - especially recently with so many games available, but that's Pogo.
