Dice Derby
Badge tips Be sure to select a table on the 9-lap tab for the Gold Cup Winner badge! For finish laps or finish games badges, you just have to click the start buttons for each race and then you can walk away or do something else. Your car will keep driving around and you'll get credit for completing the laps or games. 6-lap races take 4-5 minutes and 9-laps take 5-6 minutes. You can get game win badges by playing with a friend or cooperative partner(s). Set a private game in the table options, then have the designated loser leave the table, rejoin in the leader's car, and hold bad dice rolls and/or hazards. Keep doing this until the designated winner is ahead in the final laps and the three bot cards are far behind. Obviously you can also get wins by taking turns among four friends or cooperative players. If you don't have friends to play with and need a win badge, ask in the lobby if anyone needs complete laps or races badges, and if they're willing to lose to you. Later you can pay it forward when you need a finish laps/races badge by offering to mosey along and let someone else win. For "in a row" badges, if you already have one or two wins and are losing the next (and if you don't have helpers to drag back the leaders), simply leave the table before the race ends. When you start another race (and win), it'll still count as in-a-row. Note there's no guarantee this trick will continue to work. You have a slightly better chance of earning the Grand Prix badge in 9-lap games because 6-lap winners get whatever tokens they spin, while 9-lap winners get 100 in addition to their spin amount. In other words, you need to win the race and spin 600 or more for 6 laps, or win the race and win 500 or more in 9 laps for this badge. Ten times. The Pace Car badge is one of the very longest of all Club Pogo badges to get. These tips will help - as will a good spin or two or ten - but it still takes an average of maybe 50 races or so. Pack a lunch. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! You'll never hit a hazard on the first roll so keep rolling until you get the best hand possible before time runs out. In later turns, the odds of hitting a hazard increase with each roll of your dice. The yellow car seems to win most often (unless you're yellow, then red often wins). Maybe that's just superstition or Dice Derby burnout, but it seems that way to me.. More about Dice Derby The dice part of this game is based on the classic dice game Yahtzee (which is now available on Pogo), as is Dice City Roller. 6-lap races have a Turbo Boost (often a wild card) in the 3rd lap, and 9-lap races have one in the 5th lap. The 9th lap also has a Turbo Boost that's always a score percentage bonus. Many players end up despising this game after completing all or a good portion of its too-many and too-long badges. |
