Badge tips

Be sure to select the correct number of points in the table options for badges requiring a specific number of game points!

Be sure to select "Taking Jack of Diamonds is worth -10 points" for Heart on a Sleeve or Hearts & Diamonds!

The player with fewest points wins in Hearts, so you must have at least 15 points less than the player in last place for the Open Hearts badge, and at least 10 points for Breakin' Hearts or Be My Sweetheart.

For Blue Moon or Studmuffin, you must take all 13 hearts and the Queen of Spades. Be sure "Must take Jack of Diamonds to shoot the moon" is not checked on the table options for this badge or it will be harder to get.

Any of these badges can be earned relatively easy by playing with Pogobots, or even easier playing with friend(s) or cooperative partner(s). Take turns winning and/or completing your badge requirements.

If you have trouble getting a win against Pogobots, have a friend or cooperative player move around the table, sitting in for the bots who are ahead and sabotaging their leads. Alternately, you can move to the leader's seat towards the end of a game. But be sure one human is always seated or the table will close.

Game tips

ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help!

Clicking Advanced Options on the table options and selecting "Taking zero tricks in a round is worth -5 points" can help boost your score if you're proficient at doing so. It isn't too hard to do against Pogobots (given a bit of luck), and this option will give you a 5 point advantage if you're successful at getting either premium badge.

More about Hearts

This game has no jackpot spins.

Game play is similar to Euchre, Spades, Pinochle and Bridge. Each game has unique differences as far as high/low cards, bidding and scoring, but all are 4-player games consisting of 4-card rounds ("tricks") with a designated high "trump" suit for each round. If you can play any of these games you can easily learn the others, with the possible exception of Bridge due to its complex bidding system.
