Game tips

ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help!

This is basic video poker, but nothing less than a pair of jacks will pay out. Hold the cards you want to keep from the first deal, and hope the second deal fleshes them out into something good.

There aren't any jokers in this game.

Be aware you're betting your own tokens in this game. Bet the minimum (one) if you want to minimize the amount you could possibly lose.

Clicking the Bet One button scrolls thru the payouts per bet. Note that you don't have a chance to win the jackpot unless you bet the maximum of five tokens.

More about Jacks or Better Poker

This is one of the few games that has the chat area to the left of the playing area.

You don't have to click on the Hold button in this game: it's faster to simply click on the card(s) you want to keep.

To win the jackpot, you must have all five "jackpot" cards, and they must be in order.

Some token betting games on Pogo include a warning that you'll be betting with real tokens. Jacks or Better says it's a "no-risk" game.

This game has an unusual notice that doesn't show up in many Pogo games: "All shuffles and deals of the cards are completely random. There are no modifications to the deals based on the situation of the game."

Pogo has a few similar video poker games that offer Challenge badges including Double Deuce and Jokers Wild.
