Payday FreeCell
Badge tips Be aware of the 30 minute time limit for Royal Playday and Golden Mustache! All badges requiring Payday Scratch or bonus point require game wins now. (Previously you could hit New Game until your Scratch cards were low in the stacks, scratch them, and hit New Game to scratch them again. This timesaving glitch no longer works.) For some reason, the in-game progress status for Coat of Arms says "You've placed X of 120 cards in the foundation". For "in a row" win badges, if you lose a game after winning, hit New Game and Replay Hand and play it differently (especially if you know how/where you got stuck). When you win, it will count as "in a row" no matter how many tries it took. For Royal Court, Fairy Tale Palace or Royal Revue, think about moves before making them. If you're fairly proficient at the game, you can win in 150 moves easily if you don't waste many. For Dancing Queen, you must win the game to collect your tokens. For this and other game win badges, refer to Game tips. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! Keep free cells open as long as possible. Always keep one open unless you can see a way to free it up again right away. Wins are usually easier to get if you hit New Game until aces & 2s are low in the stacks and kings & queens are high. Try to clear columns and put kings in them, then build your red/black stacks down from them. Try not to build long stacks onto low cards as they'll be difficult to move. Sometimes moving partial red/black stacks from one column to another will free up cards you need. Try to build foundation stacks evenly since you can't pull cards back out of them. It's not always a good idea to build one foundation stack more than two or three cards higher than the others. Typing A, K, Q, J or any number 2-10 will light up all four of each card so you can see where they are. You can only Undo one move, so think about your moves before making them. The Hint button only shows one move so it isn't very useful once you understand the game. When you're stuck, it usually just shows a move that won't help (such as moving a red 8 from one black 9 to another). More about Payday FreeCell Virtually all games are winnable.. although sometimes it doesn't seem like it! The Platinum Crown badge was originally published as requiring 60 wins, but Pogo reduced it to 20. Similarly, the Royal Playday badge was originally released as requiring 10 or more points 30 times in 30 minutes, but was changed when Pogo was informed that it wasn't physically possible to earn it in the allotted time.. (don't they test these challenges before releasing them?) Ranks and game award badges were added to this game in February 2007. It had relatively high spins before that; now its spins are average, generally 100-500 tokens. This game (without the graphics or bonus cards) has been included free with Windows systems since Windows 98, where it's called simply FreeCell.
