Perfect Pair Solitaire
Badge tips You don't need wins for the Hearts Collection or Love Meter. Just make matches of two cards that equal 13 (or are the same color). Jacks are worth 11 and Queens are 12, so a Jack will match with a 2 and a Queen with an Ace. You get one heart on the right for every four matches you make, or for making a perfect (same-row) match. For Wedding Bells or Wedding Cake, try to make as many perfect (same-row) matches as you can. Be aware that you must win the game for them to count, which can't always be done when making all the perfect matches possible in a game. For Smooth Sailing or Tunnel of Love, as well as ranking up, you move ahead one space on the cruise map for each heart you complete in a game (up to ten). Sometimes you'll get Move Ahead or Move Back cards - these tend to average out and generally won't affect your overall progress. For Solitaire for Two, you'll earn more tokens for filling more hearts per game, making perfect matches, and having leftover unused Free Cells. For Port of Call, you "visit ports" by landing on stars in the cruise map after spins. If you're within a few spots of a port, you can plan (or sabotage) your game to earn the number of hearts you need to get to it. Refer to Game tips for more help with badges requiring wins. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! You get a heart by making a perfect match (a pair made on the same row). A perfect match will also complete a partial heart, so try to make them when you don't have any progress lights lit at the bottom right. The pink broken heart King cards will wipe out pairs you've made towards completing a heart so again, try to click them away when you don't have any progress lights lit up. Make good use of the Free Cell(s) above the cards to temporarily hold cards that are in your way. The life rafts to their right indicate how many times you can use them. Try to keep Free Cells clear and use them as you need them rather than just for convenience, as you may need them later. You can only earn a maximum of ten hearts per game even if you make enough matches to fill more, but you will earn more tokens for earning more than ten hearts. If you come close to a win, try using Undo until you find the missing match(es) for the card(s) that stumped you and replay them differently. You can use Undo all the way back to the start of the game without penalty, unless you've drawn a "Shotgun wedding" card. These mean you can't use Undo in that game at all. If you get stuck, just hit New Game and try again. "Stowaway" cards show up here & there in the game, often in the haunted ship or skull areas of the cruise map. Stowaways are a single pair, as opposed to the other cards that have two pairs each. Landing on Port spaces or drawing a "Man overboard" card will take some of the cards from the rows on the ship and add them to a new row on the the bottom. It's usually a long row of cards so be sure to chip away at it as you go. Obviously you can't make perfect matches with these cards. More about Perfect Pair Solitaire When you see a "perfect game" message scroll by, it means someone (maybe you!) filled all ten hearts in a game. Pogo's Badge Central has an error for this game's final badge: it says the Cupid badge is awarded for achieving Rank 49, but the Cupid Rank after completing 880 trips is actually #50. The game's How to Play shows it correctly. Clicking the anchor above the hearts on the right toggles you back & forth between the cards screen and the cruise map. Clicking your rank icon on the cruise map tells you how many more trips you need to make the next rank. The background behind the cards area changes depending where you are on the cruise map. Clicking the deck of cards at the top right of the cards screen shows the name of the area you're in. The ship on the cards area is named "Pg 2". Pg presumably stands for Pogo, and the 2 indicates the second version of this game and its redesign/relaunch when its ranks were added. This game has fewer Challenge badges than most others that began offering them in 2004, but it has more Game Award badges than most other games. This game ranks up slowly, particularly in the later ranks. If you experience freezing or flashing, clear your browser's cache & cookies, and/or reboot your computer. Don't run any other programs than necessary when playing this game. Adding RAM or upgrading your graphics card can also help. This game's How to Play has additional suggestions and system settings for smoother game performance, as does Pogo's Help section. Thanks to swimming for sending additional Perfect Pair tips! |
