Sweet Tooth / Sweet Tooth 2
Badge tips Be sure to select a room on the Caramel tab for Mellow Out or Sweet Dreams! For these badges, you just need to clear caramel spaces (the brown backgrounds, which turn clear after making a match). Be sure to select a room on the Caramel tab and select difficulty level 4 or 5 for Sticky Situation! Chocolate Coins are only found on higher levels. All other badges can be played in either Caramel or Classic games. For badges requiring spins, Classic takes one game win to earn a spin and spins are relatively low. Caramel takes three game wins to earn a spin and they are relatively high. In Caramel, if the second or third game are especially difficult, it's often easier and faster to get your spin by hitting New Game rather than struggling through. For Three Times as Sweet, a "Combo X3" bonus is a chain reaction with three separate matches. Similarly for Gumball Machine, a "Combo X2" bonus is a chain reaction with two separate matches. For Treat Yourself or 4 Match, a "4 Match" is a match of four candies in a row, horizontally or vertically. For Cat Tooth, you'll earn more tokens by playing on harder difficulties, for making Combos (described above), making 4 and 5 Matches, and for completing stages to earn jackpot spins. Badges that require specific spins can be especially difficult (and tedious) in this game, particularly Sweet Tooth Floss, Chocoholic and Candy Cruncher as spins tend to be very low. Just keep at it - they'll come. For badges requiring game wins, see Game tips. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! In either mode, it's better to look for moves in the lower part of the gameboard as they're more likely to open up additional moves or set up chain reactions than moves at the top of the playing field. Caramel has 5 Difficulty levels and Classic has 3. Caramel: The goal is to clear the caramel/brown squares. Swaps can be made in any direction. Caramel has five power-ups; double-click to activate them. Two arrow pieces clear horizontal or vertical rows; a tic-tac-toe grid-type piece removes a 3x3 block; the lightning bolt removes all pieces of one color; and the spotted piece removes random candies. In addition, if you remove a group of five you'll get a Wild Candy. Levels 4 and 5 also have Locked Pieces that appear as frosting. These can't be moved: you must move other matching pieces to them. The higher levels also have Chocolate Coins which have bonus payouts when removed. Classic: Swaps can be made horizontally or vertically. Level 1 has no timer so take your time and look for the best matches - 4 or 5 in a row, 2 matches from one move, or a move that will set off another or a chain reaction of several. Single, 3 in a row matches are the slowest way to win this game. Level 1 also has hints. If you don't make a move for a few seconds, two candies will light up to indicate an available move. Note that the hint doesn't always show you the best move possible. Level 2 will usually get a faster win than level 1 as it seems to have better potential for good chain reactions. Don't let the timer make you nervous - there's lots of time before it runs out, especially if you can get the status bar ("cavity timer") past the 2/3 point or so. Occasionally making just one or two matches on Level 2 or 3 will set off a chain reaction series that will add up to a win, and once in a great while the new screen of candies after a win will complete itself for another. If you don't have a lot of moves on the new screen after a win, you're usually better off to start a new game. You can pause the game with the letter P on your keyboard, but the playing field disappears. If you're playing a timed level and get stuck, you can hit Quit (X button) or New Game and still see most of the playing field to find remaining matches without running your timer down. This can be handy if your status bar is almost complete and you don't want to start over again. Be sure to answer No when asked if you really want to end the game if you want to return to the game you put "on hold". More about Sweet Tooth Rank badges were added to this game in November 2007, along with an upgraded title from Sweet Tooth to Sweet Tooth 2. If modifications are needed to these tips for the new version, I'll add them shortly. The animation of the Capricorn and Toothy Smile badges is nearly identical at first, but Toothy Smile then takes it further.. it's something like a badge sequel. For badges requiring specific spin amounts and if your spin qualifies for your badge, the green progress notice will show up in the chat area before the spinner spins. This game usually has a Halloween theme added to it in the fall.. the little tooth wears a costume. The Halloween 2007 badge was only available during the dates shown, and can't be activated later as a Personal Challenge. Sweet Tooth is a variation of the classic Russian video game Tetris, as is Stack 'em. Thanks to players2wdnde for sending additional Sweet Tooth tips! |
