Tri-Peaks Deluxe aka Tri-Peaks 2: Quest for the Ruby Ring
Badge tips Jackpot spins are earned by finding Relics in the Gold Treasure Chest at the far right above the playing field. Each trip across consists of six hands. This game includes mini items as Game awards along with rank badges. You can earn the first badge and mini items by playing the free trial version. You'll need to purchase the game (currently $19.95) to earn the other badges & items. Game tips ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help! Gameplay is similar to Tri-Peaks Solitaire, including Wild cards and occasional Face Up Deals, and the addition of more layouts (some with four peaks), plus Redeal and Bonus Charm power-ups. Redeal will let you shuffle your foundation pile, and Bonus Charm moves the multiplier creature up faster. This game also has rubies, which you collect from making 7-card streaks or finding them in chests. The rubies you've collected are used in the Bonus game, which is a pachinko-type game (similar to the Squelchies Bonus game). The Bonus game comes along in chests: just catch as many of the falling rubies as you can for extra tokens. Be aware that Aces are high and low, and can connect a 2 to a King; and remember that you can make moves in either direction, up or down, at any time. Save Wild cards to use when you're stuck with one card left (which happens often), or to extend streaks when someone in the room is in the trap as you'll usually get a new Wild then. If you have a choice or two or more cards to use, you're generally better off to select one that covers two cards rather than just one. You only have one Undo per hand, so save it until you need it. If you're left with a choice of plays when you have just a few cards left, try one and if it doesn't have a playable card under it, that's a good time to use Undo and try the other card. More about Tri-Peaks Deluxe This game doesn't seem to be able to decide if it's called Tri-Peaks Deluxe or Tri-Peaks 2: Quest for the Ruby Ring. Both titles appear in various places within the game and on Pogo's site. Sometimes a player will get "caught in a trap" and strung up on the left side of the screen. This doesn't have any effect on gameplay for the room or the hanging player, but it can result in Wild cards and tokens for everyone in the room if the trapped player is freed in time. The number of peaks required varies depending on how many people are in the room, whether they're actively playing or not. As you progress through the game you'll earn new card designs and unlock new stories, countries, multiplier creatures and card layouts. If you collect all the relics, you'll need to start your game over to continue progressing in ranks. Do not reset your stats! Click Change User on the game start screen, select the player name that collected all relics and click Delete. Then select an empty slot, Sign in using my Pogo account, and re-enter the player name you just deleted. This won't delete your account or ranks: it'll just restart your relics, locations and card-backs so you can continue earning ranks. Tri-Peaks Deluxe is one of several download/for purchase games (along with Lottso! Deluxe, The Poppit! Show and Mahjong Garden Deluxe) that include chat, mini items as Game Awards, and in which non-Club Pogo members can earn mini items and rank badges. Non-members' rank progress is converted to Game Award badges if they join Club Pogo, but they can earn and wear Tri-Peaks Deluxe badges inside the game. The first badge is awarded just for trying the game - even a free trial. In full screen mode, you can hit ALT plus TAB to return to your desktop. You can change from full screen to in-window play by clicking Menu and then Options. If you experience lagging when playing this game, try deselecting video acceleration in the game options. Alternately you can try reducing or disabling your system's video acceleration options. In Windows XP look in Settings>Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot. Normally PogoTips.com doesn't include any download/for purchase games, but Tri-Peaks Deluxe is here because it offers badges and mini items (some of which can be earned without buying the game). Thanks to Badge Addicts and Carrie for additional Tri-Peaks Deluxe tips! |
