Badge tips

Be aware of the 20 minute time limit for Bees for Halloween, the 5 hour time limit for Fear of Bears, the 10 hour time limit for Good 'Til the Last Drop, and the one day time limit for Private Picnic!

For badges requiring a specific number of tokens per spin, just keep at it.

For Zany Bee or Stealing a Kiss, you need to make three 5 letter or longer words to win the bonus game.

For badges requiring words of certain lengths, concentrate on making words of that length rather than shorter ones, unless you need to clear out letters.

Do the same for 8 Angry Bees but concentrate on making 8 letter words. Add suffixes & prefixes to make longer words.

For badges requiring you spell the Buzz Word, watch for the Buzz Word before trying to make regular words.

For badges requiring tokens, you'll earn more for playing on harder difficulties, making longer words, making words with colored letters, playing the bonus game successfully, and of course for jackpot spins.

All other badges in this game require game wins - refer to Game tips.

Game tips

ALWAYS read a game's How to Play, and also check for a Hints or Tips tab and/or Tutorial. They do help!

You can use any letter that touches any letter already in your word - letters don't have to be in order in the tile grid.

50 game points are needed per game on Easy setting to fill the honey jar, 100 on Medium, and 150 on Hard. Short words count for less on Hard. The number on the log under the honey jar shows your current game progress.

More points are awarded for longer words and for finding the Buzz Word shown up at the top. Finding the Buzz Word will also turn all tiles into green ones.

2 rank points are awarded per game on Easy setting, 3 on Medium, and 4 on Hard. Click the rank icon sign at the top left to see how many rank points you need to earn your next rank.

2 and 3 letter words are easiest to find, but they won't get you much progress. Look for 4 & 5 letter words and longer. Make longer words by using S's to form plurals; adding suffixes like R, ED, ER, LY; and prefixes like DE, RE, UN.

Short words are good for some things though: getting rid of difficult letters like X, QU, Z & J, or for quickly clearing up space when letters start filling up the game grid too quickly.

Star tiles are wild and can be used to spell the Buzz Word.

Using a blue tiles will clear out a bunch of letters when used in a word. Using a green tile awards extra tokens and fill the honey jar faster.

All Weekly Challenge badges before Zany Bee were assigned before this game had ranks, which were added in March 2007.

You can use the enter key or right-click your mouse rather than clicking the Submit button.

Don't get stressed out by the timed feel of this game. If you clear just a few letters, you'll free up space for more. If you need a breather, use the Pause button.

You don't need to play the bonus game to get a spin or rank up. If you don't want to play it, just click New Game (upper right) after finishing a round.

This game used to have 3, 4 and 5 letter word requirements for each round that, when satisfied, ended the round quickly. Those have been removed in the new version.
